Need To Rent A Projector? Know What Features To Look For

Do you need to rent a projector in the future for an upcoming event? If so, it will help to know the features to look for to ensure that you are renting the best possible projector for your needs.

The Room Size

The first thing to think about is the size of the space the projector is going to be used in. If you are in a small room, you'll need to look at the throw of the projector. This is how far away the projector needs to be to create a clear image on a projection surface. If you have a projector with a throw of 24 feet, but the room it is going in is only 12 feet deep, then you know that the project is not going to work for you.

Thankfully, there are short-throw projectors that can project the image from either inches or a couple feet from the screen. Since short-throw projectors typically cost more money, your rental may cost you more if that is what you need.

The Brightness

For years people have been used to watching video on a screen, which can be very bright, and you likely want a similar brightness when it comes to your projector rental. However, all projectors are not created equally when it comes to brightness. In general, you'll find that the image quality of a projector is brighter as the projector is closer to the screen, which also creates a smaller image. Image quality is then darker as you move the projector further away from the screen, which also creates a bigger image.

If you want a bigger and brighter image, you pretty much have two options for how to pull it off. You can rent any projector and will likely be fine if the image is projected in a dark room where the dimness will not be noticeable. If you need a bigger image that is brighter with plenty of light in the room, you'll need to rent a laser projector that is more capable of producing a brighter image in natural light.

The Usage

Will you be using the projector for an event where people will be playing video games on it? You'll need a projector with low input lag so that people can game and not have a big delay between when they push the button and see the action on screen. Pay attention to the input lag and go with a lower number for better results.
